It is a sure sign that they haven't a brain in their heads. Or else, as one contributor said, they want to annoy their parents. Very childish, even in adults. And far from ';covering up embarrassing nail fungus,'; nail polish actually creates it. just a fashion statement... especially if this guy is a teen, they always go through weird style changes. Just trying to figure out who he is. Also, maybe his friends do it, so no worries.

I wear black nail polish. It is practically the only kind I wear. Sometimes I';ll wear lighter colors on my toes. It is just a color that I love. I am a normal person and excellent mother with pretty decent morals and values
Contrary to popular belief, it's not a sign of a guy being gay. It's just because either the guy likes how it looks, he wants to make his parents mad, or he just wants to be a little different. Some may do it for attention.
Personally I think black finger nail polish is a fashion statement for women. The lines of fashion has blurred just like the roles of men and women.
