What's with the popularity of black nail polish?

Everywhere you look, this is probably hands down THE most popular nail polish color for women to wear. Will it ever become passe'?What's with the popularity of black nail polish?
I don't think it will. Dark colours have always been considered elegant and a bit vampy- take Chanel's Rouge Noir, which is a reddish black which looks like you've had your nails slammed in a cary door. It was first worn by Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, caused a stir and is now an elegant classic.

Black isn't quite as fashionable as it used to be- navy is the new 'It' colour, if I trust my experience from havign spent the last few months trying to get my hands on a bottle and having no luck on my mission. But black is still chic and elegant, and still sported by many a trendy sociality and celebrity. I think it is quirky and very classy on well manicured, short nail. I definetely hope it stays a classic! What's with the popularity of black nail polish?
Black nail polish stands out, it's edgy, and it's unique. Not as many people are wearing it anymore though, but some people still do. It probably will die down even more kinda like how red nail polish did.
It matches with everythinso you can wear it all the time!
Acutally neon colors and bright bold colors are also in and yes so is black it gives you away to express yourself !
Have you ever tried it? It actually looks pretty good.
